This online Traditional Chinese Medicine course is a broad range of medicine practices sharing common concepts which have been developed in China and are based on a tradition of more than 2,000 years, including various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, exercise, and dietary therapy. It is primarily used as a complementary alternative medicine approach. TCM is widely used in China and it is also used in the West.

Syllabus
Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology:
This module introduces learners in the allied health field with little or no prior biology knowledge to anatomy and physiology. Content is organized according to body systems, and focuses on the body working together to promote homeostasis.

Fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine:
Traditional Chinese medicine under the influence and direction of classic Chinese philosophies, has undergone long-term medical practice gradually evolving into a unique medical theoretical system that contributed significantly to the health care of the Chinese people and the prosperity of the Chinese nation. This module comprehensively covers the main components of Tcm, such as Basic Theory, Diagnosis, Prescription, Chinese Materia Medica, Tui Na, Acupuncture and Moxibustion.

Clinical Applications and Health Benefits of Chinese Herbal Medicine:
In Chinese medicine, it is believed that Radix Bupleuri is acrid, cool and bitter and enters liver and gallbladder meridians. This module discusses the use of Chinese herbs and other different herbal medicines for diseases and illnesses. It discusses the essential components, clinical applications and health benefits of herbal medicine.


Modern Applications Chinese Herbal Medicine:
The clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) includes differential diagnosis and treatments based on the analysis of signs and symptoms and differentiation of syndromes. The art of selecting the appropriate base herbal formula is dependent on this analysis and the modifications made according to the presenting signs and symptoms of the patient. This module  will serve as a bridge between the study of TCM fundamental theories and clinical applications

Chinese Herbal Medicine Materia Medica:
This module is designed to give practitioners the information they need to practice Chinese herbal medicine with greater understanding and confidence. It provides a wealth of new information and practical insight into more than 530 of the most commonly used herbs in the Chinese pharmacopoeia.

Treatment Principles and Composition Strategies Chinese Herbal Formulas:
This module introduces a new approach to formula study. It covers how to use the basic treatment rules and composition strategies, abstrated from hundreds of formulas, in order to create individual formulas for treating a variety of syndromes. The method is clear and easy to understand, with a systematic approach and an emphasis on essential knowledge for example ,  Chinese diagnosis of syndromes are realated to the Western disease names,  Treatment principles and plans are given for each syndrome, herb selection, treatment strategies in complicated syndromes, treatment sequences, cautionary advice for herbs and combinations with Western drugs, dosage management in a variety of conditions and commonly used pairs of herbs are all covered.
